Privacy Policy
Effective 16 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Wrumb handles personal information when you use our websites, applications, accounts, booking tools, provider tools, communications, support channels, payment features, and related services. It is written as a general policy for Wrumb's global service. Additional disclosures may apply where required by local law or for a particular feature.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use Wrumb, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account and profile information: name, username, contact details, authentication information, account type, organisation information, profile content, and verification status.
- Provider information: service areas, routes, capacity, vehicles or equipment, cargo acceptance, availability, pricing, restrictions, business information, staff relationships, ratings, completion history, and related service settings.
- Movement and booking information: pickup and drop-off locations, timing, cargo descriptions, quantities, dimensions, handling needs, declared value, notes, documents, photos or media, sender and recipient details, provider selection, quotes, offers, status, handoff events, and completion records.
- Payment and transaction information: amounts, fees, balances, payment status, refunds, settlement records, payment method identifiers or tokens, and information received from payment providers. Wrumb does not necessarily receive or store complete payment-card credentials.
- Location information: locations you enter, saved places, service coverage, route data, and location information generated or provided when using supported location features.
- Communications and support information: messages, support requests, evidence submitted in a dispute, call or messaging metadata where supported, notification preferences, and communications about a booking or account.
- Device and usage information: browser or device type, operating system, IP address, language, timestamps, pages or features used, diagnostic information, security events, cookies or similar technologies, and general interaction data.
- Information from others: information another participant provides about you when necessary for a movement, such as recipient contact details, staff membership, business details, ratings, or dispute information.
2. How we use information
We use personal information as reasonably necessary to:
- create, secure, maintain, and support accounts;
- match customers with relevant providers, services, capacity, routes, scheduled trips, prices, quotes, and availability;
- create, manage, and record requests, bookings, payments, pickup, delivery, return, cancellation, refund, and settlement events;
- share the information required for customers, providers, staff, senders, and recipients to perform a confirmed movement;
- calculate or display distances, eligibility, price components, fees, availability, and operational status;
- send account, verification, booking, payment, safety, support, and other transactional communications;
- prevent fraud, abuse, unsafe activity, account takeover, payment misuse, and violations of our Terms;
- investigate complaints, disputes, incidents, technical problems, and suspected misconduct;
- measure reliability, improve matching and product performance, develop new features, and understand how Wrumb is used;
- maintain records, enforce agreements, protect rights and safety, and comply with legal obligations that apply to Wrumb.
3. When we share information
Wrumb does not sell personal information to advertisers. We share information only where reasonably necessary for the service, a transaction, security, legal compliance, or another purpose described in this Policy.
We may share information with:
- Customers, providers, and movement participants. Relevant information may be shared after matching or booking so the people responsible for pickup, transport, delivery, receiving, or coordination can perform the movement.
- Provider organisations and staff. A provider organisation may see information needed to assign and manage work, and authorised staff may receive the information required for jobs assigned to them.
- Service providers. We may use third parties for hosting, cloud infrastructure, maps, analytics, communications, identity or business verification, fraud prevention, customer support, payment processing, and similar functions.
- Payment and financial partners. Information necessary to authorise, protect, settle, refund, reconcile, or investigate transactions may be exchanged with relevant payment providers or financial institutions.
- Authorities or other parties where required. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, legal process, a valid governmental request, or is necessary to protect users, Wrumb, third parties, or the public from serious harm, fraud, or unlawful activity.
- Business transactions. Information may be transferred as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganisation, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate protections and applicable law.
4. Public information
Some information is intended to be visible to others. For example, a provider may publish a public name, username, profile details, service coverage, capacity, ratings, completion signals, or other information used for discovery and trust. Information shown as public in Wrumb may be viewable without a direct transaction relationship.
Private contact details, payment information, internal account records, and transaction-specific information are not intended to become public merely because you create a public provider profile.
5. Location information
Wrumb uses location information to understand pickup and drop-off points, service coverage, routing context, eligibility, distance, and movement progress where supported. We may receive exact or approximate locations that you enter or that a supported device or mapping service provides with permission.
Unless a feature expressly states otherwise, Wrumb should not be understood as providing continuous live GPS surveillance of a provider or movement. Status and location signals can be delayed, approximate, user-entered, or event-based.
6. Communications
We use contact details and supported messaging channels to send service communications such as verification codes, booking requests, provider responses, quotes, payment events, pickup or delivery information, account notices, security alerts, and support messages.
Where Wrumb sends promotional or marketing communications, we will provide the choices required by applicable law. Transactional or security communications may continue even if you opt out of marketing where they are necessary to operate your account or an active movement.
7. Cookies and similar technologies
Wrumb and service providers may use cookies, local storage, device identifiers, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, maintain security, understand feature usage, diagnose problems, and improve the service. Where consent is required for particular technologies, Wrumb will provide the applicable choice mechanism.
8. How long we keep information
We keep personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including operating active accounts and bookings, maintaining transaction history, preventing fraud, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, satisfying tax or accounting requirements, and complying with legal obligations.
Retention periods can vary by information type and context. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete it, de-identify it, aggregate it, or securely retain it only where a lawful reason requires continued storage.
9. Security
Wrumb uses technical, organisational, and operational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse. These may include authentication controls, access restrictions, logging, encryption where appropriate, payment-provider tokenisation, and security monitoring.
No service can guarantee absolute security. You should use strong account credentials, protect verification and completion codes, keep your devices secure, and notify Wrumb if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
10. International processing
Wrumb is designed for use across different locations. Personal information may therefore be processed or stored in countries other than the country where you live or where a movement occurs. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, Wrumb will use an appropriate legal mechanism or other required protection.
11. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, restrict, object to, or obtain a copy of certain personal information, or to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also have a right to complain to a privacy or data-protection authority.
Some requests may be limited where Wrumb must retain information for fraud prevention, transaction records, safety, legal claims, contractual obligations, or other lawful reasons. We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.
You can update certain account and profile information directly in Wrumb. For other privacy requests, use Help or the contact method provided through the service.
12. Information about other people
If you provide information about another person—such as a sender, recipient, employee, staff member, or business contact—you must have an appropriate basis to provide that information and should give them relevant information about how Wrumb will use it where required.
13. Children
Wrumb is not intended for children who are not legally capable of using the service independently. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children in circumstances where parental or guardian authorisation is legally required and has not been provided.
14. Automated processing and matching
Wrumb may use software to rank, filter, match, or determine the apparent eligibility of providers, capacity, prices, routes, cargo, or booking options based on information available to the platform. These processes support the service but can depend on incomplete or inaccurate data.
Where applicable law gives you specific rights regarding solely automated decisions with significant legal or similar effects, Wrumb will provide the required information or review mechanism when such processing applies.
15. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Wrumb develops, our data practices change, or legal requirements evolve. We will publish the updated version and revise the effective date. Where applicable law requires additional notice or consent for a material change, we will provide it.
16. Contact
For privacy questions, requests, or concerns, use Help or the contact method made available through Wrumb. Our Terms of Service govern use of the service.
